About Mindful Therapy,

You don’t have to carry this all on your own.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, serving the tri-state Siouxland area, including Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. I offer in-person therapy and secure telehealth counseling. I specialize in EMDR therapy for trauma, OCD, and ADHD, helping clients feel more grounded, reduce intrusive thoughts, and build confidence with focus and emotional regulation.

How I Work

Therapy with me is a supportive, structured process for children, teens, and adults. It is for anyone who wants help navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, OCD, ADHD, or feeling stuck. No matter your age or what brings you in, we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, with the goal of helping you feel better in real, lasting ways.

My approach is grounded in a simple belief. Meaningful change happens when therapy supports both understanding and the nervous system. Insight matters, but it is not always enough. You might know what is going on logically, yet still feel overwhelmed, reactive, shut down, or unable to fully move forward.

What the therapy process looks like

We begin by creating a safe space where you can talk openly and feel understood. From there, we tailor the work to your needs. Together, we will:

  • Clarify what you are experiencing and what you want to be different

  • Identify patterns and triggers, including thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and stress responses

  • Build practical coping tools you can use right away at home, school, work, or in relationships

  • Explore root causes when helpful, including past experiences and how they may still be affecting you

  • Support your brain and body in processing what they have been holding onto, so relief feels natural rather than forced

A personalized approach for every age

Therapy is not one size fits all. I adapt sessions based on age, goals, and comfort level. That may include skill-building and emotional regulation, family support, trauma-informed work, or evidence-based approaches like EMDR when appropriate.

The goal

The goal is for you, or your child or teen, to feel more grounded, confident, and capable. This includes being better able to handle stress, regulate emotions, and move through life with more clarity and steadiness.

If you are ready to start therapy and want a process that is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to your needs, I am here to help.

Therapy with me is…

  • No two clients are alike, and your therapy shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all approach. I tailor each session to your goals, challenges, and pace, meeting you where you are while guiding you toward meaningful change. Whether you are navigating OCD, ADHD, anxiety, or the lingering effects of past experiences, our work focuses on what matters most to you—not a generic treatment plan.

  • I believe that clarity and progress come from honesty. In our work together, you can expect straightforward communication about what’s happening, why it matters, and what to expect next. You won’t encounter judgment or sugarcoating—just thoughtful guidance, clear insights, and strategies that are grounded in your lived experience.

  • Many high-functioning professionals worry about confidentiality and discretion. I provide a safe, private space where you can be fully yourself without concern for professional reputation or social perception. Your therapy is your experience, protected and respected.

  • Therapy is most transformative when it addresses what lies beneath surface-level stress or patterns. My approach goes beyond symptom management, helping you process past experiences, reduce emotional reactivity, and access the resilience and clarity that have always been within you. This depth allows change to feel lasting and meaningful, not temporary or forced
